We fund organizations across the spectrum of the arts, acting as a kind of mutual fund for donors who wish to support small arts organizations in underserved communities, but who do not have the time, interest and/or patience to find or to vet those institutions themselves.
Innovation 80 is small, agile, and open in our approach. As a donor-advised fund, our limited time is not consumed by the regulations of a 501(c)(3).
We spur collaboration among organizations and serve as a catalyst to further energize our grantees to achieve their goals.
We partner with grantees but do not seek to control their agendas or methods. We initiate opportunities which our grantees are free to take advantage of or not. In either case, they have our continuing support.
We respect the time of organization leaders and minimize the amount of effort organizations need to devote to the application and review processes.
We serve the small arts community by providing engaged and vocal support for the organizations we fund, building relationships over multiple years.
After our first year of funding an organization’s innovative project we often grant lesser amounts of funds for general operating expenses over the next two years.
We aim to stimulate fun and joy in everything we do and fund.
We focus on innovation. Innovation spurs creativity and excitement, and generates growth in the organizations we support.
